Teacher Gift - You Rule

Button studded ruler and Birthday card we made for my son's 1st grade teacher. We decorated a plain wooden ruler with some buttons we had laying around from a craft kit.

2013 Peacock Christmas Tree

We toned it down for 2013 and this is what I came up with for our Peacock Christmas tree.

Peacock Christmas - Tinsel Tree

 Last year we were remodeling our kitchen so I had to put my smaller tree. This is my Tinsel version of the Peacock Christmas tree.

Copper and Slate Kitchen Remodel

Here's some pictures from our Copper and Slate kitchen remodel.

Tile is Mongolian Spring Slate from Daltile.
 

I faux painted the some Oil Rubbed Bronze switch plates with Martha Stewart's Metallic paints in Bronze and Copper Penny.

We purchased the Bar Stools from Grandin Road on sale for $100 a piece -they are great quality for the price.

The farmhouse copper sink is from Belle Foret in Oil Rubbed Bronze -

We used tumbled travertine and copper tile for the back splash. The copper mosaic is actually metal bend around ceramic tile.

I Mustache You a Question Valentine

I've seen these around the net and thought I'd try it out for my son for Valentines. They were a huge hit in class. Here's my rendition complete with stick on mustaches.

Happy Half Birthday

For my son's half birthday party at school he wanted Star Wars cupcakes with Darth Vader rings on them. Of we live in a smaller town and our Wal-mart doesn't carry anything Starwars birthday related so I had to improvise. I happened to find these Clone Wars ornaments on clearance for $1. I attached toothpicks to them with double sided tape. I left the string on them so the kids could use them as charms for their back packs. I also used blue cotton candy frosting on them and I think they turned out pretty good.
